Persistence
Product Demonstrations and Analyst Presentations

The Challenge
In the past Persistence had described their product to audiences through presentations created by their engineers. That worked as long as they had a technical audience, but the profile of their audience was beginning to change. Persistence was now presenting to various executive-level prospects, new customers; financial analysts, stockholders, journalists and editors. In addition to the audience changing, so were the presenters. In the past, salespeople were responsible for making presentations. Now, there was a need for upper management and marketing teams to spearhead these efforts.

As this trend continued, Persistence knew that they were facing a challenge that required the creativity of marketing communications professionals. Persistence wanted to turn their story into an engaging and interesting presentation. Persistence contacted Fathom for our reputation to deliver creative solutions.

Leveraging the dynamic color palette promoted the Persistence brand.
Complimentary colors added dimension to the diagrams creating impactful results.

The Process
Fathom’s creative team decided that the best way to present this complex technical subject would be with easily decipherable graphics. The study began with understanding the connectivity and relationships of objects and colors. Understanding complex technological scenarios allowed us to create a collection of icons that could be interchanged on the fly, giving the end user flexibility to combine, add and reposition objects as required.

This library of icons represented the entire Persistence product line and gave the viewer the ability to understand how products related to the outside world. All internal presenters were armed with this collection of shapes, colors and other supporting graphics to create highly impactful, easy to understand diagrams.

Initial color studies allowed us to explore object relationships and connectivity.
Color was combined with shapes to create flow and define groups of
objects as well as applying a friendly, approachable characteristic in the diagrams.
A library of icons was created
for to easily manipulate diagrams
and create new scenarios.

The Solution
In addition to creating a presentation template consistent with other corporate communications, Fathom developed imagery that was sophisticated, impactful and most importantly functional. Because of it's success in the field, the graphic style migrated to other materials and became the framework for all technical diagrams including corporate brochures, web and tradeshow applications.
