The
Challenge
For years, Fathom had been developing the majority of Workscape
marketing materials. The corporate presentations we developed
for Workscape had been particularly successful and they were
ready to take them to the next level.
The purpose of this next generation presentation was to educate
prospective customers on the benefits and features of the
Workscape products. At the time, PowerPoint presentations
were the only vehicle used by marketing and sales to provide
information on the company and products. Feedback from audiences
revealed that a more dynamic and engaging presentation would
be more efficient and impactful for audiences. In addition,
many people did not have a clear understanding of the product's
features, this needed to be resolved.

Three
individuals, three scenarios with three solutions. The demonstration
displayed the versatility and flexibility of the Workscape
solution by portraying
real life situations wih actual applications and technologies
in place. |

The Process
Fathom approached the project from the perspective of a Workscape customer. We
simulated questions asked from prospects; why is this product valuable to my
company? how does it work exactly? what does it look like? These questions
generated storyboard concepts that answered all concerns. The solution addressed
each of these core questions in three parallel stories. We created individuals
in real life scenarios using the Workscape product. As they used the product,
the story would cut to animated diagrams revealing the technologies at work.

The
entire demo was created in Macromedia Flash. Narration and
sound files
were manipulated in QBase and Pro Tools before being imported
to Flash. |

The Solution
The animation was highly effective and engaging. The Fathom approach of placing
ourselves at the customer level, resulted in a simplified presentation that
all could clearly understand the first time viewed. The animated story was
invaluable to sales forces and helped generate increased sales. The presenations
would eventually be modified used for future product releases. |
